I’m sitting beside Dad in Room 101 at Scottsdale Heritage Court where the temperature outside is in the eighties. Dad was on the rehab floor for 12 days at the hospital. Unfortunately, the therapy was tiring him out so we were advised that he would need to be moved to a skilled nursing care facility. He was transferred to Scottsdale Heritage Court on March 8. It is conveniently located near the hospital. Dad has been here for three days and doing very well with the therapists. He is positive about his ability to walk again and is trying to take it “one day at a time.” Dad, with his inimitable charm, has many of the staff here rooting for his progress. And he is high fiving his thanks. Today I’m happy to report he was able to sit on his own for a few minutes and balance on the edge of the bed. Our family wants to thank you again for your prayers, wishes and comments on this blog.
Love,
Michelle
ps. A message from the man himself, Dad was surprised that he has so many friends he likes. He said, “I want you to know I miss all of you. I look forward to seeing you again.”
Wonderful. Please give Mike a High Five on our behalf from across the miles in Chandler :).

Hola de Mexico, Uncle Mike
ReplyDeleteSending lots of love your way. I'm looking forward to seeing you when I am back and debating some point or another (Mongolian horsemanship, the price of tea in China, the truth about cats and dogs) at length. I'm already preparing my arguments...hope you're preparing yours.
Much love, strength and good cheer--you're in my thoughts and prayers - Shebana
Mike,
ReplyDeleteHow are you buddy? I was in Salt Lake City and Tucson over the past 2 weeks and heading to New Mexico tomorrow AM. I get back late Thursay and would like to come see you next week. I hope you are doing better and I look forward to seeing you - my golf game has suffered without my Sunday Partner. Wanted to say HI Mike - Keep your head up and see you soon. John Gunderson
